Family Promise of East Bell County, Texas

Dentist

Family Promise helps homeless families get back on their feet. Most of the families we serve have had little dental care, and some have serious problems that can make it difficult to find employment or carry out other normal life activities. Access to free or significantly reduced dental care would be immensely valuable to them.

Family Promise of East Bell County, Texas

Maintenance and Care Volunteer

The mission of Family Promise is to provide services to homeless families through community partnerships and interfaith congregations. Family Promise helps homeless families address both external circumstances and personal choices as they work toward self-sufficiency. While the families in our program are responsible for daily cleaning efforts, we like to do deeper cleaning about once a month if possible and utilize volunteers for those projects (cleaning windows, scrubbing showers, washing base boards, organizing books/movies, etc...). Additionally, general yard work like pulling weeds, picking up sticks, etc... is helpful from time-to-time.

Family Promise of East Bell County, Texas

Moving Day Helper

The mission of Family Promise is to provide services to homeless families through community partnerships and interfaith congregations. Family Promise helps homeless families get back on their feet, and when they leave us, it is usually to move into a home of their own. We often need volunteers to help our graduating guest families move belongings into their new home. Volunteers should be physically able to help move moderately heavy items and provide their own transportation (having a truck to help transport guest items is a huge plus). Children wanting to help should be accompanied by their parents.

Auto Repair

Family Promise EBC helps homeless families get back on their feet. Reliable transportation is part of that process, and occasionally families in our program have vehicles that are in need of repair. Professional mechanical services offered for free or reduced cost would be a valuable support. The same applies to our Family Promise 15-passenger van. Must be a certified/trained mechanic.
